This creative grew from a few different sources -
A. After launching the legacy series The Lion Guard with a campaign honoring its roots in the Lion King franchise, we wanted to pivot the sustain campaign into a less reverent approach.
B. I wanted to pay homage to Blackalicious’s “Alphabet Aerobics,” and see if I could fill an alphabet using the show’s biodiverse animal cast
C. Lowkey it kind of bothered me that the show’s theme song only highlighted the attributes of four of the five main characters, and if I can be petty a sec, I wanted to see if I could one-up it by fitting in all five (I did.)
Combining see-and-say early-educational content for the preschool audience with a fan-made YouTube esthetic, the final spot features YouTube MC Tribe One hitting all twenty-six letters (which was almost 25 until my writer/producer team reminded me the letter “W” existed … that was close).
